Hala Kondratowa
On a rainy day we recommend a trip to Hala Kondratowa through Kalatówki. Start from Kuznice and go down the road to Kalatówki. After a 15-minute walk, on the left side of the road you will see the Albertine Convent along with a hermitage of Adam Chmielowski, the convent founder, a.k.a. Brother Albert.
On the right, the road splits and leads to the restored Albertine Monastery which was burnt to the ground in 1977. After 40-minute walk from Kuznice, you will reach the lodge in the Polana Kalatówki glade. The lodge was built in an Alpine style in 1938 by the Tatra Skiing Association.
It was built in a moraine with a breathtaking view of the Dolina Bystrej valley and the cable railway which leads to Kasprowy Wierch. Go down the path which runs along the top of the moraine to the blue trail and you will reach Hala Kondratowa. Follow this trail and after 30 minutes you will reach the lodge in Hala Kondratowa.
This is the smallest Tatra lodge with as few as 20 places for guests to stay overnight and their main target are day tourists. From Hala Kondratowa return to Kuznice along the same route. This trip is very easy and does not take more than 2.5 h.
